Our product development...

After an initial meeting discussing our aims and objectives for our business, we decided that we wanted to focus on bringing different generations together. This was sparked from our experience of uncertainty around what to discuss when talking to the older generation.

Initially the team came up with the idea of creating a board game as we thought this was a classic, fun and competitive way of bonding. After developing this idea for a few weeks, we came across a few hurdles - mainly that it was simply too expensive to produce. It was at this point that the team started thinking of ways that we could continue to fulfil our aim of bringing generations together, whilst keeping costs low. After assessing a variety of options, we came to the decision of creating a card game. As mentioned in our previous blog post, it had been highlighted to us that the older generation felt as if there was a language barrier due to the everchanging slang used by the younger generation. We knew that our deck of cards was the key to ‘’bridging’’ this communication gap.

We personally designed the cards, the packaging and the contents of each card before sending documents to our chosen printers: Ivory Graphics in Cambridge. Our first order was for 50 packs as we had fundraised enough cash for this to be possible through cake sales at school.

Upon the arrival of the decks of cards, we were so excited to see how they turned out. We were so delighted to see the outcome as we felt Ivory graphics really understood our vision and made it come to life.
